LIVE SHOW REVIEW // Yours & Owls Festival (Wollongong)

Though facing teething pains, Yours & Owls is a return to form for live music in this state and for festivals on a wider scale. With acts performing at 100 and music-starved attendees ready to dance their feet off, it’s a promising sign of what’s to come.

Live Show Gallery + Review // The Rubens + Alice Ivy + Mia Wray (Bar On The Hill)

After a tough twelve months, this gig felt like one big hug, bringing everyone back and reuniting the music industry. The night is one that will stick with me for such a long time, with The Ruben’s set being one of my all-time favourites.

THEATRE REVIEW // Plaques & Tangles (Creative Arts Space, Newcastle)

Good theatre is supposed to make you stop and think, and that’s precisely what Plaques & Tangles did

LIVE SHOW REVIEW + GALLERY // RedHook + Reliqa + Linear (Cambridge Hotel)

To say that RedHook and the supports killed it on Friday night is a massive understatement. Despite it being a seated gig, the energy from both the bands and the audience made for a super fun night, filled with awesome music and terrific performances from all three bands.

SINGLE REVIEW // ‘Hard To Be Alone’ – Good Lekker

The song is a summery, synth-filled indie dance track. Think Catfish and The Bottlemen meets Passion Pit meets The Jungle Giants. A perfect combination proving that the boys from Good Lekker are an absolute powerhouse; a force to be reckoned with.

ALBUM REVIEW // ‘0202’ – The Rubens

The Rubens feel like they’re finally settled into their groove on this album. While not every track is a get out of your seat and dance song, they are all very well thought out and deserve individual attention. All in all, 0202 is The Rubens’ most adventurous and most complete album yet, with a track list that will be sure to become a fan favourite into the future.

SINGLE REVIEW // ‘Gemini’ – Lili Crane

‘Gemini’ is Lili Crane’s first 2021 release, after the release of her debut EP ‘In My Head’ in 2020, and 2019 singles ‘Don’t Take My Mask Off’, ‘Drama Queen’ and ‘Stay Forever’, a track that gained quite a lot of success. Gemini seems to display an angst and sound that shows Lili’s progression from a young artist, into a mature and self-aware musician.
