Ultimately, Tuesday night was a triumphant return to form for Fields. While she made the most of the seated shows last year, there’s something special about having a dance with your mates and watching the band do the same.
The Rubens feel like they’re finally settled into their groove on this album. While not every track is a get out of your seat and dance song, they are all very well thought out and deserve individual attention. All in all, 0202 is The Rubens’ most adventurous and most complete album yet, with a track list that will be sure to become a fan favourite into the future.
While things still aren’t quite right, watching the Camino Gold boys play while the crowd danced in their seats and one punter threw ice from his glass towards the stage, it felt as close as we can get to normal.
